GETAWAY GUIDE - LAS VEGAS, NV

Hi guys! So I had planned to have this up earlier this week but I got hit with a cold that literally knocked me on my ass this week and then my laptop almost crashed - so that was fun lol! Anyway I am FINALLY feeling better and am so excited to share my trip to Vegas! It was one of the best trips that I've taken and JB and I had a blast! Be prepared this is a LONG post!

We tried to fit in as much as we possibly could the 4 days we were there, and lets just say we did exactly that. It was a whirlwind trip with very little sleep and sore feet to say the least. I want to share some of the places we ate at, visited and what we did, enjoy!

We flew in on Thursday morning and we stayed at Aria and I cannot say enough good things about the hotel! It was super clean and and was in the perfect location. We had such great restaurants there and a Pressed Juice bar! Plus the decor was so beautiful! There was a gorgeous waterfall wall right when you pulled up that I was in love with! All in all I know that when we go back we will for sure stay there again. After exploring our hotel we walked around the strip a bit and saw a ton of the hotels decorated for the Chinese new year.

That night we headed over to an awesome restaurant called Rose.Rabbit.Lie. at The Cosmopolitan - if you follow me on Snapchat (keiamclean) you would have seen how cool it was! It's a modern day supper club where there is live entertainment, awesome food and drinks, and a really cool atmosphere. It's more of a tapas style place so we got a few items - their scallops, quail, and brussel sprouts were AHHHmazing! The entertainment was great as well, we sat right behind the stage and they had a screen that would come down so we could watch the band play. The only drawback I had about dinner was I felt like we were rushed. I would have liked more time in between the food coming out to really enjoy the place. It's also a little loud but other than that it was a very cool experience.

After that we headed over for some drinks at The Chandelier Bar. Its absolutely gorgeous but for drinks, even though delicious, they are expensive. With that said we enjoyed one and just hung out in the bar and people watched. I would recommend going just to see it, its stunning! We headed right to bed after that because we were road tripping to Zion National Park the next day!

We woke up at 3:30am packed our backpacks and drove to Utah! I have to say the drive out of Nevada to Utah is suppppper creepy. Like pitch black nothingness all over! We couldn't even see the mountains as we drove in. Once we got to Zion we did a little driving around the park and realized it was absolutely freezing - thank god I happened to buy a pair of pants the day before lol! Anyway the park guide told us it probably wouldn't be ideal to hike Angles Landing without crampons (they attach to your shoe and have spikes to dig into ice). Another lady told us the same thing so we were pretty bummed at first. We ended up renting some and all I have to say is we wouldn't have made it if we didn't!  PS. Get ready for picture overload because its just that beautiful!

Zion is so incredibly gorgeous and if you have a chance GO! I could have spent 2 more days just exploring. I will say that I would pass on hiking Angles Landing with snow and ice again because that shit was scary! It was crazy and while we were deciding if we wanted to head up to the top an Australian guy stopped and hung out with us for a bit and we were all reeling about getting up there. It was super slick and getting back down was super stressful! However I'm so proud that I moved past my fear and ended up hiking the last part of it! Zion was definitely the highlight of the whole trip!

My favorite part was just relaxing right before we hiked the rest of the summit. JB brought a portable water boiler thing and some freeze-dried quinoa and we had that just enjoying the view :) He also surprised me with a little present - and no it's not an engagement ring - its a just because one <3

After hiking Zion we booked it back to Nevada because we had dinner and show we had to get to! Let's just say we were completely exhausted and delirious by the time dinner rolled around but we had the BEST meal at Harvest at the Bellgiao. It opened about a month ago and its sooooo good! The mushroom risotto is heaven & so are the drinks! After that we headed over to New York New York to see Zumanity! I've wanted to see it for years and we had great seats! They pick people from the audience to come up on stage and do some pretty interesting things to say the least ;) At the very end there's a pretty raunchy scene and JB got picked to go up on stage during it - let's just say I don't think I've laughed that hard in a LONG time! We definitely had a night to remember!

Saturday we had brunch at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel and it was so cute! You feel like you're in a little cafe and the food was the bomb! We shopped a little after that and then met up with his family who flew in that morning.

Feeling lucky in front of the money tree ;)

Later that nigh we went out for our brother-in-law's 30th! We ended up all going to an Italian restaurant and then went to Hakkasaan nightclub for some dancing and TONS of laughs! It was a blast and the craziest thing happened there! I happened to look over on the dance floor and we saw the Australian guy that we spent some time with at Zion - such a small world!  I have to say something about the relationships that you form with people on hikes - especially if you're all working through something like we did but it was like we knew him forever and I didn't even learn his name! That was probably one of my other favorite moments :)

Our last day was Sunday so we woke up early and went to see the Hoover Dam with JB's parents. It was incredible! Next time I go I am totally going inside but just seeing the outside was amazing. It was so nice to be able to spend some time with just them too!

After that we packed and had my favorite meal of the whole trip at Bardot Brasserie! First things just order the Nutella sticky bun - you will thank me! I got the most amazing eggs benedict - I'm actually salivating now as I type this lol! But it was fabulous! After that we just hung out with his family for a few hours as we were heading out on the red eye that night. We grabbed one last quick dinner - can you tell we're total foodies ;)  - and then were out!
